Chelsea's sensible big brother, Belgravia has no main shopping street nor is it sprinkled with fashionable chain stores, and we suspect that the residents would have it no other way. The shops tend towards the independent and gentile, the pubs are quiet and local and the whole atmosphere is of elegance and tradition. There are some stunning garden squares and some eye-watering prices to match, but if you want to be in the centre and yet still have a life of peace and quiet, and if you have truly arrived, then this is your place.
